Who are you?

Maybe you are in your late 30s - 40s and worried that half of your life is over. You want a career that you can feel passionate about and a rich full life.  You may be thinking about a change of direction and are not sure of next steps. Maybe you are in your 50s or 60s, not quite able to retire, but ready to try something new. You may even be a stay-at-home parent who wants to return to the workforces.  Regardless of your exact situation, you want to make quick, thoughtful progress and could benefit from the structure and accountability of coaching. You want to pursue your passions, but may be concerned about riskd to your family, lifestyle social standing, or income.

Alignment: Find a job that allows you to shine and be true to what matters most to you.  Search for a job that aligns your life purpose, skills, values, and beliefs.

  • Personal assessment: Create and understand your personal mission, values, and core beliefs.
  • Skills Assessment: Identify your unique talents, skills and work experience so you can bst market them during your job search.
  • Road blocks: Isolate and remove any roadblocks that prevent you from moving forward.

Balance:  It’s easy to fall into a job that make financial or logistical sene, or sounds prestigious, without really looking at what we want.  Determine the trade-offs you are willing to make and find a comfortable balance.

  • Life goals: What are your life goals aside from work? How do they fit into the picture? How can you ensure they also get met?
  • Prioritization: What are “must haves” versus “like-to-haves” with respect to your next job? What are “must haves’” versus “like-to-have” in other areas of your life? 
  • Tools: How do you know when you are out of balance? Learn tools and models to use to help you balance the trade-offs.

Clarity:  Define success on your own terms. Take the time to carefully examine what you want in your next job.

  • Dream job: Determine the tasks, responsibilities, and activities you enjoy versus tolerate.  Look at the jobs you’ve liked or not liked and analyze common characteristics.
  • Lifestyle Assessment: Determine your ideal lifestyle.  How much flexibility or structure do you like? What hours do you want to work? What kind of salary will give you personal freedom and comfort?  
  • Legacy: Is it important to you to leave a personal legacy?
  • Decision:  Figure out your decision-making style and a prcess that works best for you.
